    JOB SUMMARY:
    
    The Western Area Power Administration
    offers career opportunities in the fast-paced, 
    dynamic electric utility industry. We market 
    federally produced hydropower from 55 
    powerplants across the central and western 
    United States and operate and maintain over 
    17,000 miles of high-voltage transmission lines. 
    Western is one of four power marketing 
    administrations within the Department of 
    Energy.
  • This position is advertised under WAPA-08-MP-293 and WAPA-08-DE-293. If you are a current federal employee, eligible for reinstatement, or eligible under a special appointing authority, you may apply under either announcement or both.   • Relocation expenses may be paid, at the discretion of the agency, according to Federal Travel Regulation policy and/or budget.
  • Where will I be on the pay scale? If you are not currently a Western journeyman in the occupation advertised, you will receive entry-level pay with the possibility of promotion to full journeyman status after meeting certification and performance requirements (generally within 3-6 months).
