Department: Operations / Dispatch
Reports To: Dispatch Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Summary

Road Runner Wrecker Service is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our operations team. Dispatchers play a critical role in coordinating tow truck operators and equipment, ensuring customers receive timely service, and keeping operations running efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

This position requires excellent communication skills, sound decision-making, strong multitasking abilities, and the ability to remain calm under pressure while managing multiple active calls and resources.

Responsibilities

Dispatch operators and equipment for emergency and non-emergency service calls.
Monitor the status and availability of drivers and equipment throughout the shift.
Prioritize incoming service requests and assign resources efficiently.
Communicate accurate ETAs and service updates to customers.
Coordinate with drivers, call takers, managers, and other dispatch centers to maximize resource utilization.
Maintain accurate documentation and update dispatch software throughout each call.
Ensure all required call information is complete before closing service tickets.
Communicate equipment, staffing, or operational issues to management.
Provide exceptional customer service while handling high call volumes.
Ensure smooth shift turnovers by communicating outstanding calls and important updates.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Dispatch, call center, logistics, or towing industry experience preferred.
Experience with dispatch software, GPS mapping, or fleet management systems is a plus.

Ability to prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment.

Work Schedule

Sunday - Tuesday

5PM - 5AM

This role will receive a nighttime differential on their base hourly rate

Schedules may be adjusted based on operational needs.
