Company: Apex Aviation Training Group LLC
Location: Remote / Hybrid (Austin, TX Preferred)
Position Type: Part-Time Contractor (1099)
Compensation: Competitive hourly pay based on experience

Help Build the Next Generation of Pilot Training

Apex Aviation is seeking passionate and knowledgeable Ground Instructors to join the Apex Advantage Ground School team.

This is an opportunity to teach and mentor student pilots through live virtual ground school sessions, checkride preparation courses, and aviation training programs designed to help students train smarter, save money, and succeed on their checkrides.

We're building a modern aviation training company that combines technology, high-quality instruction, and real-world aviation experience to create an exceptional student experience.

Please note, this position will start in September 2026 and will initially be ground instruction only.

Responsibilities

Conduct live virtual ground school classes for Private, Instrument, and Commercial Pilot students
Lead checkride preparation and oral exam review sessions
Answer student questions and provide academic support
Assist in developing training materials, presentations, and study resources
Maintain a professional and engaging virtual classroom environment
Support Apex Advantage training programs and curriculum development
Help students build confidence and proficiency throughout their training journey

Qualifications Required

FAA Certified Flight Instructor (CFI)
Strong knowledge of Private Pilot Airman Certification Standards (ACS)
Excellent communication and teaching skills
Reliable internet connection and professional home office setup
Passion for aviation education and mentorship

Preferred

CFII and/or MEI
Previous ground instruction or teaching experience
Experience conducting virtual instruction
Knowledge of Instrument and Commercial ACS standards
Experience preparing students for FAA checkrides
