Full Job Description

Position: Senior PLC & SCADA Engineer

Duration: 12 months

Remote
We are seeking an experienced Senior PLC & SCADA Engineer to support utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and renewable energy projects. The selected consultant will provide expert PLC programming, SCADA integration, commissioning support, FAT/SAT leadership, and technical guidance for Schneider-based control systems.

Responsibilities

· Program and enhance Schneider M340/M580 PLCs.

· Develop and optimize PLC control logic for BESS and solar facilities.

· Integrate PLCs with Ignition SCADA/HMI platforms.

· Configure Modbus, DNP3, OPC/OPC UA communications.

· Support FAT, SAT, commissioning, and startup activities.

· Troubleshoot utility-scale control systems.

· Develop Functional Requirements Documents (FRDs).

· Collaborate with engineering, project, and vendor teams.

· Maintain PLC code standards and documentation.

· Support NERC CIP and cybersecurity documentation.

Required Qualifications

· 5+ years of PLC programming experience.

· Experience with Schneider M340/M580 PLC platforms.

· SCADA integration experience.

· Strong Modbus and industrial communications experience.

· Utility-scale power, renewable energy, or BESS experience.

· FAT/SAT and commissioning experience.

· Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Preferred Qualifications

· Ignition SCADA

· DNP3

· OPC/OPC UA

· NERC CIP awareness

· Solar or energy storage projects

· Electrical Engineering degree
