About the Company

We are a family-run and faith-based distributor of durable medical equipment (DME) with solutions designed to serve the needs of our customers and help our customers improve patient care. Our values of Tender Loving Care (TLC) and Trust Loyalty Commitment (TLC) influence all interactions.

About the Role

The Accounting Manager is a new fully remote position to manage and execute daily, monthly, and annual accounting tasks, financial reporting, and compliance activities. We are seeking a dynamic, hands-on, and detail-oriented Accounting Manager focused on maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the company’s operational objectives. This position will report directly to an outsourced CFO firm and indirectly to the company ownership team.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Financial Management, Accounting and Reporting:

Manage and/or perform accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, payroll, cash receipts, credit cards, sales tax returns, and accurate general ledger accounting with efficiency and accuracy.
Manage and/or perform the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and accounting ledgers.
Manage cash flows, bank account transfers, and reconciliation of monthly bank statements.
Prepare timely and accurate sales and financial reports on a weekly and monthly basis.

Compliance and Internal Controls:

Maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
Ensure compliance with all relevant financial, tax, and regulatory requirements.
Provide requested year-end reports and supporting documentation to the income tax preparer.
Coordinate general HR responsibilities for all employees using HRIS platform and direct the administration of employee benefit programs.
Any other relevant tasks or duties assigned by contract CFO firm and/or company ownership.

Qualifications

General: Trustworthiness, honesty, integrity, ability to lead and exercise strong discretion, work independently, take initiative, meet multiple and competing deadlines, participate as an effective team member, possess a high level of flexibility, resourcefulness, and critical thinking, and follow tasks through to completion on a timely basis.

Experience: 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in distribution, manufacturing or related industries.

Education: Associate’s degree in accounting or finance required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Accounting: Knowledge of GAAP, and solid experience with accurate debit/credit general ledger accounting. Must be familiar with typical closing processes and month end journal entries.

Technology: Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook. Experience with Acumatica ERP software and proficiency with coordinating the implementation and integration of new software with accounting systems a plus.

Organization: Strong organizational skills with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail.

Communication: Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
