Part-Time Recreational Therapist

Three Trails Behavioral Health Hospital

At Three Trails Behavioral Health Hospital, we believe healing doesn’t only happen in therapy rooms—it happens through laughter, creativity, movement, and meaningful moments. That’s where you come in.

We’re looking for a Part-Time Recreational Therapist who’s passionate about helping people rediscover joy, build skills, and connect in ways that truly support recovery.

What You’ll Do

Lead fun, therapeutic activities like art, music, games, fitness, and life-skills groups
Turn everyday moments into opportunities for growth and confidence-building
Get to know patients and help them set goals that matter to them
Collaborate with an awesome team of nurses, therapists, and providers
Document progress (the not-so-glamorous part, but we’ll keep it simple!)
Create a safe, welcoming environment where patients feel supported and engaged

What You Bring

Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Recreation Therapy or in a Creative Art Therapy field (i.e., Art Therapy, Music Therapy, Recreation Therapy, Dance Therapy or Psychodrama); or a major in a related therapeutic discipline including occupational therapy. Master’s degree, preferred.
Previous experience in healthcare, rehabilitation, behavioral health, or long-term care preferred
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to work a full time or part time schedule that includes some evenings
CTRS certification preferred
A creative spark and a heart for behavioral health
Energy, empathy, and strong people skills
Ability to balance structure with spontaneity
