Position Title: Staff Accountant

Location: Hawthorne, CA (On-Site)

Assignment Type: Temp to hire

Compensation: $30.00/hr - $35.00/hr

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Benefits: This position is eligible for Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401(k).

Job Description

Addison Group is seeking a Staff Accountant for a opportunity with a growing multi-location organization. This role will support key accounting functions, assist with month-end close activities, and provide audit support during a critical reporting period. The ideal candidate will have strong general ledger accounting experience, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

General Accounting

Assist with month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.
Reconcile bank accounts, credit card accounts, and other balance sheet accounts.
Support revenue recognition and financial reporting processes.
Prepare and analyze profit and loss statements and balance sheet reconciliations.
Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger.
Assist with inventory-related accounting and cost analysis activities.
Support fixed asset accounting, including tracking and depreciation schedules.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Audit Support

Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation.
Gather, organize, and review requested materials for audit testing.
Assist with financial statement support and supplemental schedules.
Research and respond to auditor inquiries in partnership with internal stakeholders.
Help ensure timely completion of audit-related requests and deliverables.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience.
Experience supporting external audits strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.
Experience with ERP or accounting systems such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, or similar platforms.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting accounting operations for multi-location organizations.
Exposure to inventory accounting and cost accounting.
Prior public accounting or audit experience.
Ability to quickly adapt to new systems and processes.
