Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Medtech / PCA (Personal Care Attendant) to join our vibrant healthcare team. In this role, you will provide essential support to patients across various care settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, and home care environments. Your primary focus will be delivering personalized patient care, assisting with daily activities, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for individuals with diverse needs. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those requiring specialized care, including seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities, and those living with dementia or undergoing hospice care. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and committed to upholding the highest standards of patient safety and dignity.

Duties

Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate, and temperature to track patient health status
Support medication administration under supervision or according to established protocols while adhering to HIPAA regulations for medical confidentiality
Document patient care activities accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) or EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems like Epic or Cerner
Provide specialized care for patients with conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, or other memory impairments through tailored approaches like memory care techniques
Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, tube feeding, and wound dressing as trained
Maintain a safe environment by following infection control protocols and ensuring proper medical documentation is completed promptly
Collaborate effectively with nursing staff and healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient-centered care in acute or community settings

Qualifications

Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments is highly preferred
Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and basic nursing practices necessary for patient care
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities-related needs is advantageous
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation
Certification as a PCA or Medtech is preferred; however, training opportunities may be available for qualified candidates willing to learn on the job
Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, transferring patients safely, and standing for extended periods
Strong communication skills combined with compassion and patience when caring for diverse populations including seniors and those with complex health conditions
