Appalachian Labs of WV is seeking a highly organized and proactive Field Support Manager to help lead and coordinate daily operational activities across our field collection teams, courier logistics, and laboratory support functions.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment, enjoys solving operational challenges, and takes pride in building efficient systems that support both staff and client accounts. The Operations Manager will serve as a key connector between field staff, couriers, laboratory teams, and leadership to ensure specimens move quickly, service expectations are met, and operational processes run smoothly.
This is a hands-on leadership role with significant impact on daily operations and service quality.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Coordination
- Monitor daily operational workflows and identify potential service disruptions
- Ensure specimens move efficiently from collection specialists to couriers and into the laboratory
- Work closely with laboratory staff to maintain smooth specimen processing and transport
- Identify operational bottlenecks and help implement solutions that improve efficiency
Courier & Logistics Management
- Oversee courier routes and specimen pickup schedules
- Ensure all client accounts receive timely specimen pickups
- Adjust routes and schedules when staffing changes, weather, or operational issues arise
- Communicate with couriers regarding delays, service concerns, or route changes
- Monitor courier performance to maintain reliable specimen transport
Field Staff Support
- Ensure collection specialists have necessary supplies and materials
- Assist with scheduling adjustments or coverage when needed
- Reinforce expectations for professionalism, documentation accuracy, and specimen handling
- Serve as an operational resource for field staff
- Phlebotomist fill - in
Client Account Operations
- Assist with on-boarding new client accounts and operational setup
- Ensure accounts have proper collection procedures and supply access
- Address operational concerns reported by healthcare facilities
- Maintain strong communication between client accounts and laboratory staff
Supply & Resource Coordination
- Monitor supply levels for collection specialists and client accounts
- Coordinate delivery and distribution of collection supplies
- Work with internal staff responsible for ordering and inventory
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain operational logs and specimen transport documentation
- Assist with documenting operational workflows and procedures
- Support incident documentation and process improvement efforts
- Reinforce HIPAA standards and patient confidentiality requirements
Systems & Process Support
- Assist staff with operational workflows related to laboratory systems
- Identify workflow inefficiencies or system challenges
- Support operational improvements and implementation of system updates
Qualifications
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Business, or related field
- Phlebotomist
Experience:
- Experience in healthcare operations, laboratory services, logistics, or medical field operations
- Experience coordinating teams, schedules, or logistics in a service-driven environment
- Phlebotomist
Skills:
- Strong organizational and operational problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Ability to work collaboratively with both field and laboratory teams

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
