Avionte, LLC seeks a full-time Director, Software Development. Telecommuting available from anywhere in US. HQ at Bloomington, MN. Responsible for engineering leadership and team management; technical architecture & full-stack platform strategy; product development, ATS integration and cross-platform synchronization; and process improvement, quality assurance and operational excellence. Specific duties include: 1) Direct and manage a team of full-stack software engineers across mobile (iOS, Android), web (Angular SPA/C#/.NET), backend (Python/DJANGO), cloud infrastructure (AWS), and database development for a company’s staffing and recruiting products, including conducting performance evaluations; developing individual performance improvement plans; and tracking team productivity metrics. 2) Oversee technical architecture and design decisions for mobile applications (iOS/Android), backend API services, database systems, cloud infrastructure (AWS), and integrations with BOLD ATS and third-party applicant tracking systems. 3) Direct end-to-end solutions spanning mobile applications, API services, and database layers to deliver comprehensive staffing and recruiting functionality. 4) Lead cloud infrastructure strategy and implementation using AWS services for scalable, reliable deployment across all platforms. 5) Manage database architecture, optimization, and query performance improvements including PostgreSQL upgrades and optimization initiatives. 6) Guide API design decisions ensuring seamless integration between mobile applications and backend services. 7) Direct improvements to application performance across all platforms, including mobile app startup optimization, API response times, and monolithic API refactoring. 8) Oversee code quality standards and technical debt reduction initiatives across iOS, Android, and Python backend codebases. 9) Ensure platform security across mobile, API, integration layers, and infrastructure, addressing vulnerabilities and implementing security best practices. 10) Oversee feature development in BOLD ATS that integrates with Avionte Mobile (24/7) applications, ensuring seamless recruiter-to-candidate workflows. 11) Maintain fail-proof data synchronization between BOLD ATS and Avionte Mobile (24/7) platform backend, ensuring data consistency and reliability across systems. 12) Design, maintain, and enhance integrations with third-party applicant tracking systems including Bullhorn and eRecruit, enabling multi-ATS support. 13) Develop robust error handling, retry mechanisms, and reconciliation processes for ATS synchronization to ensure data integrity. 14) Assign project leads and allocate resources for major initiatives across mobile applications, ATS integrations, backend services, and infrastructure. 15) Lead full-stack feature development initiatives such as Avionte Chat spanning mobile, API, and BOLD platforms. 16) Manage sprint planning, backlog health, and story estimation processes across multiple product teams. 17) Establish and enforce full-stack software development best practices, including code review standards, testing protocols, deployment procedures and agentic AI coding across mobile, backend, and integration systems. 18) Implement root cause analysis processes for production incidents, system outages, synchronization failures, and performance degradation issues. 19) Drive improvements to agile methodologies, grooming practices, and sprint planning effectiveness across engineering teams. 20) Supervise a team of Principal Software Developers, Senior Software Developers, and Offshore Software Developers. Technologies and tools utilized by the Software Development Director include: Full-stack software engineering leadership, mobile application development (iOS/Android), backend API architecture, Python development, ATS integration development, data synchronization and ETL processes, database design and optimization (PostgreSQL), AWS cloud infrastructure, third-party API integration (Bullhorn, eRecruit), Agile and Agentic-AI coding methodologies. This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, or a related field and eight (8) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in a lead software development position. Experience must include eight (8) years of experience, which may be concurrent, in all of the following: (1) Directing and managing a team of full-stack software engineers across mobile (iOS, Android), web (Angular SPA/C#/.NET), backend (Python/DJANGO), cloud infrastructure (AWS), and database development for a company’s staffing and recruiting products, including conducting performance evaluations; developing individual performance improvement plans; and tracking team productivity metrics. (2) Overseeing technical architecture and design decisions for mobile applications (iOS/Android), backend API services, database systems, cloud infrastructure (AWS). (3) Ensuring platform security across mobile, API, integration layers, and infrastructure, addressing vulnerabilities and implementing security best practices. (4) Establishing and enforcing full-stack software development best practices, including code review standards, testing protocols, deployment procedures. (5) Utilizing technologies and tools: Full-stack software engineering leadership, mobile application development (iOS/Android), backend API architecture, Python development, 3rd party software and systems integrations, data synchronization and ETL processes, database design and optimization (PostgreSQL), AWS cloud infrastructure, Agile methodologies. All experience may have been gained concurrently. Experience must have been acquired after completion of the Bachelor’s Degree program. Salary: $214,053 to $240,000/year.
