We are looking for a Procurement Specialist - Alvarado, TX

Job Title: Procurement Specialist
Location: 8432 South Interstate 35W, Alvarado, TX 76009
Duration: 4 Months (Potential for Full-Time Employment based on performance)
Work Schedule: 40 hours/week, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Work Mode: 100% Onsite
Interview Process: Video Interview followed by In-Person Interview

Position Summary

We are seeking a Procurement Specialist to support plant-level sourcing and procurement operations. This role is responsible for executing procurement activities, issuing purchase orders, managing supplier quotations, supporting Category Management strategies, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have experience in a procurement or production environment, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities

Support sourcing activities for manufacturing, field operations, technology, and project management requirements.
Execute Category Management strategies in accordance with established procurement policies and procedures.
Issue and manage purchase orders based on material requirements from manufacturing, operations, and project teams.
Coordinate local procurement activities for goods and services not covered under Category Management agreements.
Prepare and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs) and manage competitive bidding processes.
Evaluate supplier quotations based on quality, pricing, and delivery requirements.
Monitor and assess supplier performance to support procurement effectiveness.
Contribute to cost containment initiatives and operational efficiency through effective procurement practices.
Maintain procurement records and ensure compliance with organizational procurement standards.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Technical, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a procurement or production environment.
Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel, email, and general business systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational, task management, and workload prioritization skills.
Ability to work effectively under direct supervision in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced procurement certification such as CPM or equivalent.
Experience with SAP and other ERP systems.
Knowledge of Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) processes.

Pay: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour
