Since its founding in 1975 Beckmar Environmental Laboratory has firmly established its reputation as a commercial, quality-driven laboratory specializing in environmental analysis, particularly in water and wastewater. Beckmar provides its clients with defensible and affordable sampling and analysis. Its valued clients include municipal and private utilities, state regulators, water and wastewater operators, manufacturers, hospitals, school districts, agribusiness, swimming pool facilities, real estate developers, community service organizations and private home-owners.
Beckmar is currently hiring for a Quality Assurance/Quality Control Officer
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensures methods and SOP’s are in place and adhered to by staff, resulting in accurate and quality data
- Responsible for reviewing and approving batch reports for analysts in order to create client reports
- Serves as the laboratory main contact for state and local authorities concerning certifications, proficiency testing, and auditing
- Oversees all QA/QC in the laboratory in the departments of wet chem, microbiology and organic chemistry testing
- Responsible for document control, control charts, and yearly DMRQA’s
- Conducts internal audits
- Ensures the laboratory is compliant with regulatory requirements and standards
- Writes, reviews and revises SOP’s, QAP and technical reports
- Leads monthly meetings and training sessions
- Helps troubleshoot laboratory instruments
- Ability to answer client questions and give guidance when needed
- Performs duties of a safety officer and preparation of lab wide safety training
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a basic or applied science
Great prioritization, organizational, and multi-tasking skills. Ability to manage several concurrent projects and work under pressure while having attention to detail.
Have an outgoing personality with strong interpersonal skills in order to provide great customer service.
Enjoys working in a team environment, but also can function working independently.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office/computer skills.
Four years of laboratory experience
Demonstrated leadership experience
Knowledge of wastewater and drinking water certification requirements
Knowledge of standard methods of drinking water and wastewater
