Full Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) to join a busy Emergency Department at a Level IV Trauma Center. In this role, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered emergency care to individuals presenting with a wide range of medical, surgical, cardiac, neurological, and trauma-related conditions. You will work collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, technicians, and other healthcare professionals in a fast-paced environment.

Emergency Department Highlights

Level IV Trauma Center
Approximately 100 patient visits per day
30 private Emergency Department rooms
6-bed Emergency Department Observation Unit (EDOU)
6 Fast Track beds staffed with a dedicated Physician Assistant for lower-acuity cases
1 Seclusion Room
5 Additional Monitored Rooms
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:3 to 1:4
Strong support team including 5 Emergency Department Technicians during peak hours
Patient population includes:
Trauma
Cardiac emergencies
Neurological emergencies
Medical and surgical emergencies
Pediatric and adult patients

Key Responsibilities

Assess, prioritize, and provide emergency nursing care using evidence-based practice.
Perform rapid patient triage and ongoing reassessment.
Administer medications, blood products, and treatments safely and accurately.
Respond effectively to trauma activations, cardiac events, strokes, and other emergencies.
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
Monitor patient responses and document all care accurately in the electronic medical record.
Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Participate in emergency response efforts and quality improvement initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
Minimum 1 year of Registered Nurse experience
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
Current Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Pay: $31.00 - $47.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
