Employment Specialist
Champlain Community Services is seeking an Employment Specialist to join our Way2Work supported employment team. This position supports individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism as they explore career interests, build employment skills, connect with local businesses, and succeed in meaningful jobs in the community.

The Employment Specialist will work directly with individuals, families, support teams, employers, schools, and community partners to create successful and lasting employment opportunities.

Essential Job Functions:
· Support individuals in identifying career interests, employment goals, strengths, skills, and support needs
· Develop and maintain Individual Employment Profiles and other employment-related documentation
· Assist individuals with resumes, applications, references, interview preparation, and other job-seeking skills
· Build and maintain relationships with local businesses to create job opportunities, job shadows, site tours, internships, mock interviews, and other employment experiences
· Provide job development, job site education, worksite support, and on-the-job training for individuals and job coaches
· Create task analysis tools, work plans, fade-out plans, and other supports needed for long-term employment success
· Participate in transition meetings, team meetings, home visits, ISA meetings, IEP meetings, and other planning meetings as needed
· Communicate regularly with Service Coordinators, families, employers, team members, and other support professionals regarding employment goals, schedules, changes, and progress
· Provide transportation support when needed
· Provide coverage at worksites when a job coach is absent, including support with personal care needs when required
· Train job coaches at worksites and provide ongoing indirect supervision and support
· Understand and help explain employment tools and work incentive programs, including SSI/SSDI, and collaborate with benefit resources when needed
· Collaborate with Vocational Rehabilitation and other community partners to support employment success and reduce barriers to work
· Participate in supported employment team meetings, staff meetings, required trainings, and department goals
· Maintain timely and accurate documentation in Electronic Health Records, including service notes, employment updates, work schedules, wage verification, Vocational Rehabilitation paperwork, and other required records
· Complete payroll reporting, expense reimbursements, calendar updates, and other administrative tasks as required
· Represent CCS and Way2Work in a professional manner through outreach, networking, marketing, and community engagement
· Follow HIPAA requirements and CCS/Way2Work disclosure policies
Physical Demands:
This position may require the ability to provide physical support to individuals, including occasional lifting or transferring, support while walking, pushing manual wheelchairs, assisting individuals in and out of wheelchairs or vehicles, and performing other physical tasks that require a full range of motion.
