Full Job Description

Position Summary

Christ The King Baptist Church, in Milwaukee is seeking a talented, passionate, and Spirit-filled Organist/Keyboard Player to serve as an integral part of our music ministry. The ideal candidate possesses a strong love for the Lord, a heart for worship, and the ability to render traditional gospel music, praise and worship, and congregational hymns.

This individual will work collaboratively with church leadership, choir members, praise and worship teams, and other musicians to help create meaningful worship experiences that glorify Jesus Christ.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provide organ and/or keyboard accompaniment for Sunday morning worship services
Play for weekly choir rehearsals and scheduled music rehearsals
Accompany choirs, praise and worship teams, soloists, and congregational singing
Provide musical accompaniment for special worship services, revivals, concerts, funerals, and other church events as scheduled
Work collaboratively with the Music Director, choir leadership, and pastoral staff in selecting and preparing music
Demonstrate proficiency in traditional gospel, praise and worship, and contemporary Christian music styles
Support spontaneous worship moments and preacher accompaniment as appropriate
Arrive prepared and punctually for rehearsals, services, and ministry events
Maintain a Christ-like attitude and work cooperatively with church staff, volunteers, and musicians
Stay current with worship music trends while honoring the church's musical traditions

Qualifications

Demonstrated proficiency on the organ (and keyboard when needed)
Experience accompanying choirs, congregational singing, and worship teams
Knowledge of and experience with traditional gospel, contemporary gospel and praise and worship, music styles
At least 3 years of experience as an organist and/or keyboardist in a Gospel music ministry setting is required
Ability to read music and play by ear is preferred
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Dependable, professional, and flexible with scheduling needs.
A personal commitment to Christian values and a passion for using music to glorify God

Schedule

Sunday morning worship services.
Weekly choir rehearsals, musician rehearsals
Additional rehearsals, funerals, special services, and ministry events as scheduled
