NSC Staffing is seeking skilled Aluminum Welders for an exciting shipbuilding project supporting new construction of commercial and government vessels, including Coast Guard cutters and unmanned Navy platforms.
We are looking for candidates with strong experience in aluminum MIG (GMAW) welding in a production or shipyard environment.
Essential Job Functions – Aluminum Welder
As an Aluminum Welder, you will be responsible for:
- Performing aluminum MIG (GMAW) welding on structural and marine components
- Welding in 3G, 4G, and 5G positions (vertical, overhead, and pipe)
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, weld symbols, and technical drawings
- Completing fit-up, layout, and fabrication of aluminum components
- Ensuring weld quality meets shipbuilding and inspection standards
- Operating hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely
- Working in confined spaces, at heights, and physically demanding environments
- Following all safety procedures and PPE requirements
- Assisting with material handling and general work area cleanup
- Participating in special projects as required
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 4+ years of aluminum welding experience (shipyard preferred)
- Strong experience with MIG (GMAW) aluminum welding
- Must be able to pass welding test in 3G, 4G, and 5G positions
- Ability to read blueprints and weld symbols
- Experience in shipbuilding, marine, or heavy industrial environments preferred
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and multiple shifts as needed
