Experienced Diesel/Trailer Technician Wanted
The OTR truck and/or trailer mechanic is responsible for timely repair and maintenance of heavy duty vehicles to ensure a safe and efficient fleet of vehicles. This position requires a high level of proficiency and working knowledge of heavy duty diesel engine diagnosis and repair, including diesel particulate filters (DPF), as well as other Class 8/E truck systems. A comprehensive understanding of fleet maintenance operations, DOT and CVSA standards.
Job Duties
· Perform general and detailed repairs to trailers, trucks, engines and vehicle components
· Preventative and predictive maintenance
· Complete periodic and routine vehicle inspections
· Diagnose and troubleshoot a variety of mechanical problems
· Respond to service calls/when required
· Investigate and take appropriate action regarding vehicle defects reported by drivers
· Prepare and maintain accurate vehicle records
· Other duties as assigned by Manager
· Educational Requirements
· High School diploma or equivalent
· ASE T-Series certification a PLUS!
Qualifications
· A successful candidate for the heavy duty truck mechanic position will meet the following requirements:
· Demonstrated applicable mechanical and technical aptitude
· 1 year minimum of experience working on Class 8/E tractors at the journeyman mechanic level
· Certification from a mechanic trade school in heavy duty vehicle repair may be substituted for 1 year of experience as a heavy duty mechanic/repair technician
· Possess a valid driver's license (Class A CDL highly preferred)
· Have own tools
· Working proficiency with computers
· Successfully undergo a pre-employment drug screen and background check
