Full Job Description

Glazier

We are a reputable, stable, growing mechanical glass and construction contractor and we have an outstanding opportunity for you to contribute to our growth and success.

Reporting to the owner, the glazier will be responsible for handling, fitting and repair interpreting technical drawings and specifications mainly for commercial glass windows.

Essential Responsiblities

Reading and interpreting blueprints or specifications to determine the type, size, and shape of glass required.

Cutting glass to the specified size and shape, using hand tools and power tools.

Measuring and marking glass and materials according to the given specifications.

Installing glass in windows, skylights, storefronts, and display cases, or on surfaces such as building fronts, interior walls, and tabletops

Fastening glass panes into frames and secure glass using mastic, putty, or other types of sealants

Bolts metal hinges, handles, locks, and other hardware to prefabricate glass doors.

Sets glass doors into frame and fit hinges.

May install metal window and door frames into which glass panels are to be fitted.

May press plastic adhesive film to glass or spray glass with tinting solution to prevent light glare.

Qualifications

Proven work experience as a Glazier.

Familiarity with different types of glass and their uses.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Experience using glazier’s tools and equipment.

Attention to detail and good manual dexterity.

High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a glazier apprenticeship program or vocational training in glass installation may be preferred.
