HealthNet of Rock County is a non-profit clinic serving Rock County individuals who are low-income, uninsured, or underinsured for medical, dental, and behavioral health services. HealthNet’s outreach program Seal-A-Smile has dental hygienists and dental assistants working directly in schools in Janesville, Beloit, and Milton. It’s a fun, fast paced environment working with children in the schools by placing sealants and fluoride.

We are seeking some someone with high energy who enjoys working with children to fill this position. The perfect candidate is flexible, self-starting, and able to work with limited supervision. This would also be a great opportunity for someone new to the dental field.

Position SummaryThe Seal-a-Smile Hygienist provides preventive dental services to children through school-based and clinic settings. This role supports the delivery of high-quality oral health care, maintains accurate patient records, and assists with program operations to improve access for underserved populations.Qualifications:

· Current credentials (education and licensure) to practice as a Dental Hygienist in the State of Wisconsin

· Ability to work efficiently while providing compassionate care to uninsured and underinsured patients

· Knowledge of data management systems and/or electronic dental records

· Strong communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities:

Clinical Services:

· Perform oral health screenings and complete dental charting

· Apply preventive treatments including fluoride and sealants in mobile settings

· Provide clinical services in the dental clinic as needed, including plaque and calculus removal

· Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing, and nutrition

Patient Records & Data Management:

· Maintain accurate electronic dental records, including medical history, medications, and procedures

· Utilize the Wisconsin Seal-a-Smile dental database and ensure timely entry into Open Dental

· Collect and report patient and program data as required

Program Support & Operations:

· Manage and maintain mobile dentistry equipment

· Assist with distribution and collection of consent forms for participating schools

· Assess patient needs and provide appropriate resources or referrals

· Provide case management and referrals for children requiring additional dental care within Rock County

Partnerships & Representation:

· Serve as an ambassador for the organization with schools and community partners

· Collaborate with school staff, site managers, and internal teams to ensure effective communication

· Attend required statewide Seal-a-Smile meetings

Quality & Compliance:

· Participate in quality improvement initiatives

· Ensure compliance with organizational policies, including clinical, safety, and operational standards

Additional Duties:

· Act as a float within the program as needed

· Perform other duties as assigned

Work Hours:

Typical school hours are 8:00am to 3:00pm. More hours can be completed for charting/charges.
Not reporting to schools for scheduled school days off, vacations, holidays.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $36.00 - $39.00 per hour
