Senior Tax Preparer Retained Search | Fully Remote
About the Search
We have been retained by a privately held tax, bookkeeping, and fractional CFO advisory firm headquartered in New England to identify their next Senior Tax Preparer. Founded in 2013, our client has built a strong reputation across the region and is actively expanding their client base across multiple states. They serve business owners in complex, specialized industries including cannabis, restaurants, construction, and retail. Their approach goes well beyond compliance. They function as a year-round financial partner, helping clients make confident, informed decisions at every stage of their business. As they grow, they are looking for a professional who shares their standard of care and is ready to step in and uphold the exceptional experience their clients have come to rely on.
The Role
Working with business owners' financials is a position of real trust and responsibility. The right person for this role understands that and takes it seriously. The Senior Tax Preparer will prepare and review individual and business returns, work directly with clients, and serve as a trusted advisor throughout the year. This is a role for someone who thinks proactively through the lens of the client, not just about what needs to be filed, but about what the client needs to know, what opportunities exist, and what risks should be addressed before they become problems. Detail-oriented by nature and client-focused in practice, this person genuinely wants to ensure every client feels informed, supported, and well taken care of.

- Manage your own workload and deadlines with minimal oversight
- Identify planning opportunities and flag issues proactively
- Help train, mentor, and develop less experienced team members as the firm grows

- Proactive mindset with a habit of anticipating client needs before they arise
- Personable and confident working directly with clients
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously without sacrificing accuracy
- Exceptional attention to detail and a genuine commitment to quality
