Board-Certified Physician Specialists – Independent Medical Opinion Consultant (Remote | 1099 Contractor)
Compensation: Flat Fee per Case ($500-$750+, depending on specialty and case complexity)
Important: This is an occasional, case-by-case consulting opportunity. There is no minimum case commitment, no required schedule, and no guarantee of case volume. Consultants may accept or decline assignments at their sole discretion. This opportunity is designed for physicians seeking flexible, supplemental professional consulting work on an as-needed basis.
About Us
Independent Medical Nexus (IMN) provides independent medical opinion and records review services for veterans' disability and medical-legal evaluations. We are expanding our network of board-certified physician specialists available for occasional consulting assignments.
This is a fully remote, flexible consulting opportunity with no direct patient care responsibilities, insurance billing, call schedules, or practice overhead.
Specialists Currently Needed
- Hematology/Oncology
- Neurology
- Psychiatry
- Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine
- Cardiology
- Otolaryngology (ENT)
Additional specialties may be considered based on experience and expertise.
Responsibilities
- Conduct independent review of medical and supporting records
- Provide specialty-specific analysis and recommendations
- Review and revise draft medical opinions as appropriate
- Render independent medical conclusions supported by the available evidence and medical literature
- Execute final reports when consistent with your independent professional judgment
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree required
- Active, unrestricted U.S. medical license
- Board certification in specialty area
- Strong analytical and clinical reasoning skills
Compensation & Structure
- Flat-fee compensation on a per-case basis, typically ranging from $500-$750+, depending on specialty and complexity
