Full Job Description

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Paralegal to join the legal team at the United States Attorney’s Office in, Texas. This pivotal role offers an exciting opportunity to support complex federal litigation and legal proceedings across a diverse range of practice areas. The Senior Paralegal will play a vital role in managing case files, conducting legal research, drafting documents, and coordinating with attorneys and external agencies to ensure efficient case progression. Ideal candidates will demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, extensive paralegal experience, and a passion for public service. This paid position provides a dynamic environment where your expertise will directly contribute to the pursuit of justice and the effective administration of federal law.

Responsibilities

Assist AUSAs conducting witness interviews and preparing a record of the interviews for use at deposition.
Review title commitments for accuracy and create deed history summaries.
Prepare Declarations of Taking Reports, Amended Declarations of Taking (ADT) Reports, Complaints, Notices Joint Motions to Close, and Motions to Suppress, summarize depositions and other transcripts, maintain case files, and control exhibits and other materials at depositions and at trial for assigned cases.
Document landowner complaints and responses in a monthly report.
Support and assist attorneys in the courtroom by preparing exhibit cross-references and screening documents for relevance and privilege according to established guidelines and criteria.
Identify types of record keeping systems and types of records maintained which would be relevant. Gather, sort, and interpret data from various record systems including computer information systems.
Develop statistics and tabulations, such as standard deviations, regression analyses, and weighting, to provide leads and supportive data for case litigation. Prepare charts, graphs, and tables to illustrate results. Analyzes data, develops recommendations and justifications for the attorney(s) who will take the matter to court.
Design and develop systems and procedures for tracking, controlling, and managing case files, exhibits, and other case-specific materials.
Other related duties as assigned and within scope

Qualifications

Proven paralegal experience with a strong background in multiple practice areas such as litigation (civil or criminal), estate planning, environmental law, or related fields.
Two (2)-Year degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, Criminal Justice, Business/Business Administration/Finance, English/Journalism, or other related field; or high school diploma/equivalent and Paralegal Certificate.
Minimum three (3) years of experience in providing legal support, such as independently drafting correspondence, pleadings, motions, and proposed orders.
Proficient in Microsoft Office software programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain adjudication for the requisite background investigation
Excellent communication skills including professional phone etiquette; adept at managing administrative tasks efficiently.
