Sales Representative

Company Description

The company is a leading full-service wholesale importer of premium nutritional products, trusted by major national and international clients, supplying over 5,000 containers annually with a turnover of more than $150 million in sales. Its products serve a diverse and prestigious client base, including distributors, government agencies, schools, hospitals, and the cruise industry. With an inventory turnover of 10–11 times per year, the company specializes in managing high-volume, commodity-based products where pricing fluctuates daily.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct daily sales activities to achieve targets in a highly competitive, fluctuating commodity market.
Negotiate pricing and contracts with customers and prepare competitive bids.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers while actively growing the client base.
Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities with a wide range of clients.
Collaborate with the purchasing team to align sales strategies with cost opportunities and market availability.
Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and pricing movements to anticipate customer needs and provide actionable insights.
Provide product knowledge and technical sales support to customers, ensuring trust and confidence in offerings.
Utilize CRM software to manage accounts, track sales activities, and generate accurate sales reports.
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely delivery, resolve issues, and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.

Experience, Qualifications, Skills

Several years of proven outside sales experience in the food industry, wholesale, commodities trading, or a similar high-volume environment.
Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in competitive markets.
Experience in trading, importing, or high-volume wholesale operations.
Knowledge of institutional sales to government entities, schools, or healthcare providers.
Familiarity with logistics, supply chain processes, and international trade.
Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Solid understanding of commodity pricing and the dynamics of wholesale distribution.
Strong negotiation and deal-closing ability in fast-moving markets.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
