Director of Business Development – Telecommunications
Triage Partners is seeking a seasoned telecommunications business development professional with an established network of ISP, electric cooperative, municipal broadband, utility, and telecom industry contacts.
This role is responsible for driving new business opportunities across fiber deployment, OSP construction, engineering, splicing, staffing, managed services, and I&R solutions.
The ideal candidate has proven success selling telecommunications construction, engineering, workforce, or field services and understands the broadband ecosystem from network engineering through OSP construction and customer activation.
This is a contractor-side telecommunications sales role. Ideal candidates have worked for a telecommunications construction, engineering, or infrastructure services company selling services to broadband providers and network owners. Candidates whose experience is limited to selling internet, voice, wireless, cloud, or managed telecom services for an ISP or carrier are not the target profile.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans targeting ISPs, broadband providers, electric cooperatives, municipalities, utilities, and engineering firms.
- Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities across OSP construction, FTTH/FTTP deployments, fiber services, staffing, engineering, managed services, and I&R.
- Leverage existing telecom industry relationships to generate new revenue opportunities and long-term partnerships.
- Manage the complete sales cycle including prospecting, presentations, proposals, negotiations, and contract execution.
- Build relationships with telecom decision makers including operations, engineering, construction, procurement, and executive leadership.
- Monitor BEAD, IIJA, RDOF, and other broadband funding opportunities to identify potential projects.
- Represent Triage Partners at industry conferences, customer meetings, and networking events.
- Maintain accurate sales pipelines, forecasts, and CRM activity.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of telecommunications business development or sales experience.
- Proven experience selling telecommunications construction, engineering, fiber deployment, OSP services, staffing, or field services.
- Established relationships with ISP, utility, cooperative, municipal broadband, and telecom decision makers.
- Strong understanding of FTTH/FTTP, OSP construction, fiber deployment, Central Office, splicing, and I&R services.
- Proven success developing new accounts and closing complex service agreements.
- Experience negotiating MSAs, SOWs, or enterprise service agreements is preferred.
- Strong presentation, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 60%.
Preferred Experience
Experience working for or selling telecommunications construction services with companies such as Dycom, MasTec, GridSource, TAK Broadband, Congruex, Circet USA, Ledcor, Centerline, Primoris, National OnDemand, Team Fishel, Hylan, Pauley Construction, North Sky Communications, Contract Solutions, CUI, ITG, Peak Utility Services Group, or similar telecommunications infrastructure contractors.
