Duvall Performing Arts is a thriving and growing dance program serving families throughout the Greater Seattle area. Our students train hard, perform often, and build lasting confidence through the arts. In addition to our regular classes, we produce exciting annual stage productions, community performances, and festival opportunities that give dancers meaningful performance experiences throughout the year.

Position Overview
Duvall Performing Arts is seeking an experienced and energetic Contemporary & Jazz Dance Instructor to join our teaching faculty.
This position will primarily focus on teaching beginning through intermediate-level contemporary and jazz classes, developing strong technique, musicality, performance quality, and artistic expression in young dancers.
Qualified instructors will also have opportunities to create and set choreography for our Performance Division dancers, preparing pieces for festivals, showcases, community events, and other performance opportunities throughout the season.

Responsibilities
- Teach contemporary and jazz dance classes for beginning through intermediate-level dancers.
- Create engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans that foster technical growth and artistic development.
- Cultivate a positive, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment.
- Provide constructive feedback and mentorship to students.
- Choreograph routines for performances and studio events.
- Create and set choreography for our Performance Division dancers.
- Collaborate with fellow faculty members and studio leadership.
- Participate in rehearsals, performances, annual productions, and studio events as needed.
- Serve as a positive role model and ambassador for Duvall Performing Arts.
Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum 5+ years of dance teaching experience.
- Strong training and proficiency in both contemporary and jazz dance.
- Experience teaching dancers of varying ages and ability levels.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Professional, reliable, organized, and punctual.
- Passion for dance education and student development.
Preferred:
- Experience choreographing for performances, festivals, competitions, or showcases.
- Experience working with pre-professional or performance-focused dancers.
- Ability to contribute creatively to annual productions and special events.
Compensation & Benefits
- $25–$50 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
