POSITION DESCRIPTION
JVI Group is a leading heavy/highway contracting firm in Pennsylvania, serving diverse clients like PennDOT, local County & Municipalities and private stakeholders with unparalleled dedication and performance. JVI Group offers robust services including heavy-haul trucking across the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond, milling and paving for residential and commercial properties. We have an extensive fleet of owned dump trucks, heavy-haul trucks, and concrete redi-mix trucks, catering to local quarries, redi-mix plants and contractors.
Our Dispatcher is responsible for the coordination, scheduling, and tracking of JVI Commercial Vehicles including dump trucks, heavy haul trucks, and concrete redi-mix trucks, as well as maintaining communication, safety and compliance protocols, trouble-shooting and responding to customer calls.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Oversee and manage driver workforce.
- Coordinate company commercial vehicle use for the benefit of internal and external customers.
- Produce a daily schedule for dispatching drivers and vehicles for specific tasks.
- Utilize Verizon Reveal GPS to assist with efficient pickups, drop offs and routing.
- Communicate effectively with company drivers, operations employees and external customers to transmit messages, instructions and route adjustments clearly.
- Work with Equipment Manager and Shop staff to ensure that all vehicle paperwork and maintenance is carried out without disrupting scheduling.
- Coordinate driver training needs with Safety Manager.
- Work cooperatively with Human Resources and Safety to ensure driver DOT compliance for record-keeping and drug testing.
- Perform Road Tests with potential employees as part of the new hire process.
- Review all violations by CMV drivers.
- Oversee the planning of the annual driver training.
- This position is considered “essential personnel” and will be responsible for responding in inclement weather and assisting with snow removal as needed.
- Must be willing to participate in training classes that are given by JVI Group, Inc. or requested by JVI Group, Inc.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Must have knowledge of Federal, State and Local regulations pertaining to Motor vehicles, Environmental regulations, Occupational safety and general business practices relating to the construction and transportation industries.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; comfortable speaking to groups and individuals.
- Computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to multitask.
- Ability to work with various departments, foster teamwork, and maintain positive customer relationships.
- Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Demonstrate resourcefulness and initiative in dealing with daily assumptions.
- Must have a positive mindset and be a strong leader.
- Preferred Class A CDL.
- Must have a least two (2) years of progressively responsible dump truck and heavy haul truck dispatching experience.
WORK REQUIREMENTS
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Must be able to travel regionally as needed.
- Must have the stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions.
- Must have the ability to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.
- Must be able to complete required paperwork.
- He / She will mostly work in a heated or air-conditioning building. Occasionally have job duties outside the building. He / She may be exposed to heat, cold, dust, irritants, etc.
- He / She may be exposed to and handle hazardous materials.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
