What you will do
As an Electromechanical Technician at KEMA Labs, your main responsibilities will include:
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on facility equipment and systems in a safe and efficient manner.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment, identify root causes of failures, and implement or recommend long-term corrective solutions.
- Inspect, maintain, and repair generator plant equipment, including gauges, breakers, motor starters, motors, and other power and control systems.
- Monitor equipment performance, conduct operational and condition-based testing, and evaluate results to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and overall facility performance, and provide recommendations to the Head of Section Assets Management.
- Update and maintain electrical drawings, schematics, and other technical documentation to reflect equipment and system changes.
- Safely operate cranes, hoists, forklifts, man lifts, and other powered equipment required to support maintenance activities.
- Support Generator Operations with maintenance and operational activities as needed.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of maintenance procedures, OEM manuals, vendor documentation, and applicable technical standards related to facility equipment.
- Use electrical and electro-mechanical diagnostic tools and maintenance equipment to inspect, troubleshoot, and repair plant systems.
What you bring
We are looking for someone who:
- Three (3) or more years of experience in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial electrical and mechanical equipment in manufacturing, utility, power generation, or similar industrial environments.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, technical specifications, and equipment documentation.
- Experience troubleshooting and maintaining electrical and mechanical systems, including motors, generators, transformers, rotating equipment, and industrial control systems.
- Expertise with low-, medium-, or high-voltage electrical systems; experience working in or supporting high-voltage environments is strongly preferred. Proficiency using electrical and electro-mechanical diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and maintenance instrumentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly formulate complex findings, effectively communicate background, data, or technical concepts
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to work independently while contributing as an effective member of a collaborative team.

The work environment includes occasional exposure to industrial settings, such as machinery and outdoor conditions. Work involves a great deal of standing, using hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls and reaching with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk, talk, hear, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and smell. Talking, hearing and specific vision abilities (close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, focus adjustment) Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, working at heights and handling objects of various weights (up to 50 pounds).
