Full Job Description

Job Overview
Kuhn Family Dentistry is seeking a skilled Dental Assistant to join us Mondays -Thursdays. Ideal candidates to join our privately owned single doctor practice will have at least 2 years clinical experience. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our clinical team in delivering high-quality services to create beautiful smiles. This position requires proficiency in various dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining a welcoming, safe and efficient clinical environment.

Duties

Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
Take dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to safety standards.
Assist dental hygienist with seating patients, recording periodontal charting, coronal polishing, and re-appointing patients.
Manage patient records, including medical documentation, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Utilize Dentrix for patient management and appointment scheduling.
Provide chairside assistance during various dental procedures, including general dentistry, fixed and removable prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions.
Maintain inventory of dental supplies and equipment, ensuring all tools are sterilized and ready for use.
Collaborate effectively with the dental team to ensure a positive patient experience.

Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:

Certificate from Dental Assisting training program and minimum 2 years clinical experience required.
Familiarity with Dentrix and Dexis dental software and knowledge of 3D scanning technology is a plus.
