Duties
- Serve nutritious and appealing meals to residents during the evening shift with professionalism and warmth
- Assist with food presentation, plating, and ensuring dietary requirements are met accurately
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the dining area, including bussing tables and cleaning utensils
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently during meal preparation and service
- Adhere strictly to food safety protocols, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation procedures
- Support dietary staff by assisting with basic food production and meal assembly as needed
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, culinary arts, or the food industry preferred; experience in assisted living or nursing home settings is a plus
- Knowledge of food handling, sanitation, and safe lifting practices; ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy meal periods
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, positive attitude toward residents and team members
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills for accurate portioning and order processing
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and adhering to dietary requirements for special diets or medical needs
- CPR certification is desirable; willingness to obtain if not already certified
