We are currently seeking a Procurement Specialist / Material Buyer for our materials group:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, but not limited to:
- Responsible for procuring the highest quality material at the best value and coordinating the efficient movement for materials to the end user to ensure on-time delivery per kit schedules.
- Solicit quotes, review bids and placed orders from an AVL. Ensures lead times are correct.
- Manages suppliers on allocated and unique components.
- Reviews MRP new and changed information, coordinates cancellation efforts and communicates exception to MRP cancellation instructions.
- Reviews MRP and determines material requirements.
- Manage inventory to minimize risk of excess/obsolescence, coordinates disposition of excess inventory, and participate in pro-active cost reduction activities.
- Reviews shortage reports and expedites material shortages. Clears MRB and B/R of discrepant materials.
- Review MRP exception reports and reschedules, push/pull and cancel orders.
Job Qualifications:
5 + years’ experience in Electronic contract manufacturing purchasing experience
- BA/BS at 4-year accredited college - preferably business degree
- Recent graduates are encouraged to apply
- Electronic contract manufacturing experience is a plus
- Understanding of various electronic components
- Excellent communication, organizational, analytical/quantitative, writing and English language skills.
- Self motivated, Self Directed
- Critical emphasis on attention to detail
- Computer literate (MS Excel, Word, Powerpoint,etc.)
- Understanding of MRP / ERP systems- U.S. citizenship
