Part-Time Armed Security Officer – Law Enforcement Experience Preferred

Schedule: Evening, overnight, weekend, and special-event shifts may be available

Job Description

Soteria Security Solutions is seeking professional, dependable, and experienced Part-Time Armed Security Officers for assignments throughout the Metro Detroit area.

We strongly encourage current, former, retired, and reserve law enforcement officers to apply. This position is ideal for candidates seeking flexible part-time work while using their training, experience, judgment, and professional presence to help protect clients, employees, visitors, and property.

Our officers are expected to provide a visible security presence, deter criminal activity, respond appropriately to incidents, and represent Soteria Security Solutions with professionalism and integrity.

Responsibilities

Maintain a professional and highly visible armed security presence
Conduct foot and vehicle patrols of assigned properties
Monitor entrances, exits, parking areas, buildings, and restricted locations
Identify suspicious behavior, safety hazards, and policy violations
Respond appropriately to disturbances, alarms, emergencies, and security incidents
Use verbal de-escalation and sound judgment when addressing conflicts
Enforce client rules, post orders, and access-control procedures
Contact law enforcement, fire, or emergency medical services when necessary
Prepare accurate daily activity reports and detailed incident reports
Communicate professionally with clients, employees, visitors, supervisors, and emergency personnel
Protect confidential and sensitive client information

Minimum Qualifications

Current, former, retired, or reserve law enforcement experience is strongly preferred
Must be at least 21 years old
High school diploma or equivalent
Must be legally eligible to possess and carry a firearm
Must possess or be able to obtain all armed-security licenses, permits, and firearm qualifications required by Michigan law and company policy
Current law enforcement officers must have authorization for secondary employment when required by their agency
Strong observation, communication, conflict-resolution, and report-writing skills
Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during emergencies
Professional appearance and command presence
Reliable transportation, working telephone, and consistent attendance
Ability to pass applicable background screening, drug screening, and employment-verification requirements
Ability to work independently and follow written post orders

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in patrol operations, investigations, corrections, military service, executive protection, or armed security
Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certification
De-escalation, crisis-intervention, or active-threat-response training
Experience working at commercial properties, industrial facilities, residential communities, healthcare locations, or special events

Physical and Work Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, patrol, or remain alert for extended periods
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
Ability to respond quickly to emergencies and safely perform assigned duties
Availability for evening, overnight, weekend, holiday, and special-event assignments
