Full Job Description

The Furniture Bank, a small Atlanta-based nonprofit serving over 5,000 individuals annually, is seeking a full-time driver for their 26-foot box truck. The organization collects and redistributes furniture to people experiencing homelessness, domestic violence survivors, individuals living with HIV/AIDS, and families facing financial hardship. The ideal candidate must be flexible, patient, and skilled at multitasking, with the ability to lead a field team independently. This role requires someone who can balance efficiency with supervision while serving as the organization's public face during community interactions.

Primary responsibilities include:

Operating the box truck safely and navigating daily routes using GPS
Managing furniture pickups from donors and deliveries to clients
Securing loads properly with ratchet straps and cargo blankets to prevent damage
Supervising crew members in the field and warehouse
Handling donor and client concerns professionally
Managing inventory placement and warehouse maintenance
Completing required documentation accurately
Lifting up to 75 pounds regularly
Occasionally working special events during evenings and weekend

Required qualifications:

Valid Georgia driver's license with clean driving record (no CDL needed)
Ability to pass DOT physical examination
At least one year of route driving experience (strongly preferred)
Physical capability for demanding labor
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Punctuality, reliability, and ability to work independently
