Our independently owned Midas service center is looking for an ambitious, customer-focused professional to join our team as a Manager in Training (MIT). This role is designed for someone with a proven sales background who wants to develop into a future Store Manager while building a rewarding career in the automotive service industry.
You'll work directly alongside the Store Manager, learning every aspect of operating a successful service center—from sales and customer experience to operations, technician workflow, inventory management, and leadership.

Position Summary
The Manager in Training is responsible for delivering an exceptional customer experience while developing the leadership, operational, and business skills necessary to manage a high-performing Midas service center. This is a hands-on role focused on customer service, sales, service writing, operational excellence, and team leadership.
Success in this position requires strong communication skills, a sense of urgency, the ability to multitask, and a genuine desire to grow into a management position.
What You'll DoCustomer Sales & Service
- Build trust with customers by understanding their needs and providing honest repair recommendations.
- Write accurate repair orders and explain services in a professional, customer-friendly manner.
- Prepare estimates and obtain customer authorization.
- Follow up with customers throughout the repair process to ensure an outstanding experience.
- Help customers understand the value of preventative maintenance and recommended repairs.
- Consistently deliver exceptional customer satisfaction while meeting sales goals.
Service Operations
- Learn daily shop operations and workflow management.
- Assist in scheduling work and managing technician productivity.
- Help maintain efficient bay utilization and shop organization.
- Support the Store Manager in ensuring repair orders are completed accurately and efficiently.
Parts & Inventory
- Learn inventory control procedures and parts management.
- Assist with parts ordering and receiving.
- Ensure warranty parts, vendor returns, and core returns are completed accurately and on time.
- Help maintain an organized parts inventory.
Quality Control
- Review technician inspections for completeness and accuracy.
- Learn quality control procedures to ensure repairs address the customer's original concern.
- Verify completed repairs meet company standards before vehicle delivery.
- Help minimize comebacks by ensuring repairs are completed correctly the first time.
Leadership Development
- Train alongside the Store Manager in all aspects of business operations.
- Learn team leadership, coaching, scheduling, and performance management.
- Assist with problem-solving and operational decision-making.
- Develop the skills necessary to lead a high-performing service center.
- Lead by example with professionalism, accountability, and a strong work ethic.
What We're Looking For
- Proven success in sales, customer service, or retail management.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and closing skills.
- Previous automotive experience is a plus, but not required. We can teach automotive—we're looking for someone who already knows how to build trust, create value, and close sales.
- Leadership potential and a desire to grow into a management role.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to stay calm and productive in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable learning new technology and shop management systems.
- Positive attitude, coachable mindset, and commitment to continuous improvement.
- Valid driver's license preferred.

Our independently owned Midas service center is a fast-paced, high-volume, high-octane environment where no two days are the same. You'll spend your day interacting with customers, supporting technicians, learning shop operations, solving problems, and helping drive the success of the business.

Schedule Requirements
- Full-time position.
- Weekend availability is required, including Sundays.
- Flexibility to work during peak business hours as business needs dictate.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
