About the Role
As a member of the Miller Transfer Driver Recruiting Team, you will play a key role in connecting top CDL talent with one of the nation’s leading heavy haul carriers. This is a high-impact, relationship-driven role where your work directly fuels the growth of our fleet and the success of our operations. You will recruit for both company drivers and independent contractors across the U.S.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and execute targeted recruiting strategies to attract qualified CDL-A drivers through social media, cold calling, job boards, referrals, and lead generation
- Manage the full recruitment lifecycle — from initial lead through hire — for company drivers and independent contractors
- Build and maintain relationships with candidates, industry contacts, and current drivers to develop a strong talent pipeline
- Conduct thorough screening of all driver applicants including qualification verification, MVR review, and DOT compliance checks
- Monitor and review safety-sensitive candidate applications daily within the applicant tracking system, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Coordinate onboarding activities including travel arrangements and new hire orientation in partnership with the driver trainer
- Provide outstanding candidate communication at every touchpoint — every driver deserves to be treated with professionalism and respect
- Stay current on industry trends, employment law, and labor regulations affecting driver recruitment
- Participate in weekly recruiting team meetings and monthly fleet calls
What You Bring
Required:
- 1–3 years of driver or transportation recruiting experience — you know what a strong CDL-A candidate looks like
- High phone volume doesn’t intimidate you — you make calls, follow up, and close
- Organized and self-directed — you can manage 20+ open positions without dropping the ball
- Comfortable with ATS systems and social media sourcing platforms
- Hustle mentality — you treat every candidate like they matter because they do
Preferred:
- Experience recruiting for heavy haul, OS/OW, superload, or flatbed operations
- Familiarity with DOT regulations and FMCSA compliance requirements
- Experience sourcing independent contractors (owner-operators)
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field
