Position Overview
Provide leadership, direction, strategic planning, and execution for all aspects of company’s supply chain policies, objectives, and initiatives. This position will work closely with leadership to establish key supply chain relationships with vendors and strategic suppliers. The Procurement Manager will be responsible for sourcing equipment, goods and services and managing vendors. The successful candidate will be able to perform strategic procurement activities across multiple categories of spend with heavy emphasis on identifying and developing strong relationships with new suppliers.
Job Responsibilities and Duties

Work closely with Operations and Engineering teams to develop and lead strategic sourcing and procurement strategies in alignment with company objectives and growth goals, including inventory and working capital objectives; logistics initiatives; and cost reduction programs.

Develop new suppliers and work with existing suppliers on allocation strategies and our contracts for critical long lead materials to improve availability.

Provide increased stability, predictability, and continuous improvement across all dimensions of the supply chain operations.

Provide leadership, vision, and direction in sourcing and procurement.

Lead negotiations for strategic sourcing agreements and contracts with direct material, MRO, and logistics providers. Items negotiated include purchase price, supply chain flexibility programs, preferred AP terms, delivery, and commercial terms.

Formulate and deploy procedures governing all aspects of materials procurement, materials planning and supplier development.

Institute policies and procedures for collecting and reporting key metrics that will reduce our overall costs while increasing productivity.

Evaluate and enhance our operations in local spending while researching and prospecting developments in global spending.

Manage every aspect of the supply chain and notify appropriate personnel of any supply concerns in a timely manner

Lead and leverage continuous improvement activities to drive improved performance and profitability.

Ensure supplier compliance with all specifications and requirements ensuring best in class supplier performance.

Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms.

Establish and maintain cost reduction targets and appropriate rewards for all buyers

Partner closely with information technology to ensure consistent progress in automating and systematizing all aspects of the procurement and material management process.

Assume final responsibility for ordering and tracking all inbound project materials, along with their associated delivery deadlines.

Develop a KPI and performance metrics driven procurement, manufacturing, warehousing, and logistics environment, where ambiguity is removed or minimized by virtue of clear, measurable goals and frequent analysis of progress.

Create policies and procedures for risk management and mitigation.
- Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand, work closely with key suppliers to assure they can meet expectations
- Travel to current supply base and potential new suppliers

Develop new suppliers and work with existing suppliers on allocation strategies and or contracts for critical long lead materials to improve availability
Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business with an emphasis in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or Operations Management. CPIM or CPM certifications are a plus.

Minimum 5 years of experience in a Procurement Management role with equivalent experience operating in a manufacturing environment.

Proven and successful track record with sourcing and vendor management

Forward-thinking perspective on supply chain with experience finding opportunities to integrate analytics and technology into operations.

Demonstrated buying, negotiation, and networking skills.

Ability to develop win/win relationships with suppliers to reduce costs and improve delivery and quality.

Strong working knowledge and proficiency in ERP systems. Experience with Epicor ERP a plus.

Industrial HVAC, sheet metal, fabrication, or mechanical equipment experience preferred.

Working experience with vendor management software

Experience and understanding of Lean Manufacturing?

Familiar with manufacturing processes including but not limited to metals, fabrication, assembly, paint, and electronics.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. Periodic travel will be required. This role routinely involves standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Some of the work will require exposure to loud noises or fumes in the plant facility.
Physical Demands
The employee must be able successfully to perform essential functions of this job with the physical demands as described here and representative of those that met.
This is a largely sedentary role; however, this position could require standing or sitting for extended periods of time or traveling long distances to meet with customers.
