JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for providing career counseling services to NSU students and alumni.
MAJOR DUTIES
Assists students and alumni with the development and revision of resumes, cover letters, and thank you letters; assists students by conducting mock interviews.
Assists students with self-assessment and career exploration activities; counsels students from a variety of majors on career decision-making.
Instructs students in the use of Career Services software and in job search strategies.
Schedules and conducts classroom presentations.
Lead special projects which could include teaching a Career Readiness class, maintaining the experiential learning program, conducting departmental assessments, and/or coordinating the Outcomes Survey.
Answers questions and provides information to prospective employers; markets Career Services and our programs to employers.
Coordinates with faculty to schedule career services content for university classes.
Promotes career events and workshops to students and faculty.
Market the experiential learning program to business, government, and non-profit employers.
Attends on- and off-campus career and job fairs.
Develops and distributes informational materials for Career Services programs, resources, and activities.
Develops and utilizes assessment tools to monitor student career development progress; recommends improvements.
Analyzes job market trends to determine solutions in response to market conditions.
Will be required to travel to other campuses on occasion.
Performs related duties as assigned.

COMPLEXITY/SCOPE OF WORK
The work consists of varied career counseling duties. Frequent interruptions contribute to the complexity of the position.
The purpose of this position is to provide career counseling services to students and alumni. Success in this position assists students in finding employment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.
Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Oklahoma for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
Annual salary $34,356.00 with excellent benefits, including generous leave time.
