Full Job Description

Peak Partners has a client who is an established a mid-size Baltimore law firm seeking a skilled Legal Administrative Assistant with at least five years of experience to join its Family Law team. As a key member of our firm, you will play a crucial role in supporting our attorneys by managing Family Law cases, maintaining clear and consistent client communication, and ensuring all case-related documents, records, and bills are accurate and up to date. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with an experienced and collegial team that handles a wide array of Family Law matters.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain orderly digital and hard-copy case files while safeguarding confidential client information and preserving records in a timely manner.
Working knowledge of legal terminology, litigation procedures, and Maryland state court filing practices.
Ability to manage competing priorities, meet frequent deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced legal environment.
Strong written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, error-free legal documents.
working with discovery coordination, civil litigation support, and trial preparation activities.
Proficiency with case management software and standard legal office technology.

· Provide administrative support to assigned attorneys and/or paralegals

· Schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments and travel arrangements

· Handle incoming calls, emails and mail, directing them to the appropriate personnel

· Maintaining up-to-date and accurate case notes in our advanced case management system

· Efficiently handling the opening and processing of cases/files, ensuring all necessary documentation is obtained

· Requesting and organizing supporting documentation

· Meeting and taking phone calls with clients daily for both follow up and/or new intake.

· Prior exposure to family law matters is strongly preferred..

· Proficiency with case management software and standard legal office technology.

Qualifications:

Minimum of five years of experience as a legal administrative assistant in a law firm setting
Strong understanding of legal terminology, procedures, and filing with courts and agencies, a plus
Experience with managing attorney calendars/ scheduling, and drafting documents including correspondence, pleadings, binders and reports is required
Proficiency in document management systems, Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe needed
Excellent organizational and attention to detail
Ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
High level of discretion and professionalism
Ability to work independently and part of a team

Hybrid 3 days in and 2 days remote if you want.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year

Experience:

Family law: 3 years (Preferred)
Law office: 5 years (Required)

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Baltimore, MD 21202
