Job Overview
Responsibilities for day-to-day accounting processes that include but not limited to Account Payable, Account Receivable and General Ledger entries. Evaluates and makes improvements to accounting processes while ensuring that practices comply with organization accounting policies and applicable laws and regulations. Integral part of accounting department to prepare and produce financial statement according to the GAAP.
Essential duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare· Account Payable function (included but not limited to):
1. Recording and reconciling vendor transactions.
2. Resolving any discrepancies with vendor statement
3. Manages check requests, vendor payments and ensure all appropriate approvals have been obtained
- Account Receivable function (included but not limited to):
1. Recording and reconciling payments & resolving any payment discrepancies
2. AR collections: preparation and sending AR Statement, contacting customer for payment resolution
3. Preparation and sending Credit Memo
4. Producing reports as required by management
5. Assisting in customer set up (obtaining information for credit review, reseller permits/tax exempt certification)
- Prepare and post journal entries and GL reconciliation
- Maintain prepaid and accruals accounts
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual closing procedures
- Ensure expenses and revenue are recognized and recorded accurately in GL.
- Assist with corporate ad-hoc reporting and analysis on actuals vs budget.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- BA, BS in Accounting or Finance
- 2 to 5 years of progressive experience
Knowledge and Skills
- Detail oriented and good organizational skills
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and international accounting policies and regulations.
- Skilled in math applications and accounting formulations.
- Strong MS office application skills (Word, Excel, PP, and Outlook).
- Exposure to SAP System (preferably)
Physical Demands & Environmental/Working Conditions
- Incumbent must be able to perform the Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the job (stated above).
- Work is performed primarily in an office environment.
- Typically requires the ability to sit at a computer for extended periods of time, hear the telephone, and enter data on a computer or calculator
- May require the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
