Qcells Service Solutions(‘QSS’) is a residential solar asset operation and maintenance service company powered by Qcells. QSS set up a design standard and installation guide for EnFin TPO and provide a specialized Quality assurance review service. QSS monitors all assets proactively to resolve any issue, so that maximizes homeowner experience and capital investor’s value.
We are seeking an Associate QA/QC Engineer to conduct quality assurance and quality control activities for a defined portfolio of residential solar assets. This role is responsible for owning day-to-day QA/QC reviews to ensure assets meet established operational, safety, and quality standards.
This position focuses on operational ownership, working closely with cross-functional QSS team to maintain quality, resolve issues, and drive consistency across installations and asset performance.
This role is remote; however, the candidate(s) will be expected to relocate at their own expense to our onsite Houston, TX or Irvine, CA locations.

Review electrical and mechanical system designs and installations to ensure compliance with NEC, local jurisdiction requirements, OEM requirements, and company QA/QC standards.
- Perform routine and targeted quality audits on residential solar installations to verify compliance with design specifications, code compliance, and company standards.
- Ensure timely review and completion of assigned project queues in alignment with established service level agreements (SLAs).
- Identify quality issues and collaborate with internal teams to resolve them effectively.
- Conduct root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Draft, review, and update technical documents such as scopes of work, procedures, and best practices.
- Track, analyze, and communicate quality performance metrics, trends, and corrective actions to QA/QC Manager.
- Support QA/QC Manager in achieving departmental goals, including SLA adherence, review process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain awareness of industry standards and best practices relevant to residential solar.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Construction Management, or related field OR equivalent hands-on experience; licensed electricians with solar experience will be considered.

1-2 years of experience in QA/QC, construction, or related technical roles; experience in solar is preferred (internships or field experience acceptable).
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, system designs, and performance data to identify potential issues.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across internal teams and external partners.

Detail-oriented and highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage priorities in a remote environment.

Familiarity with industry standards and codes such as UL, IBC, and NEC.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook).

Proficiency in Aurora and/or Solargraf design tool

Travel may be required up to 10%, depending on business needs.

A background or familiarity with PV (photovoltaics) projects is a plus.
- Working knowledge of residential solar equipment, installation practices, and performance metrics.
- Experience working with financed solar assets or TPO portfolios.

The salary range is required by the California Pay Transparency Act and may differ depending on the location of those candidates hired nationwide. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to, skill set, education, licenses and certifications, essential job duties and requirements, and the necessary experience relative to the job’s minimum qualifications.
