CDL Class A Driver

With over 50 years in the trucking industry, our company has built a reputation for dependability, safety, and on-time service. We proudly serve large commercial clients, and have long-standing partnerships, built on trust and performance. In addition to freight transportation, we also produce and distribute our own 100% natural mulch, delivering to landscapers and retail yards, throughout the tri-state area. Our drivers operate modern equipment, including Wilkens Live Belt Trailers, ensuring safe and efficient products delivery. Our drivers are the backbone of our success, and committed to providing quality equipment, consistent work, and competitive benefits.

We are seeking a skilled and dependable CDL Class A driver, with five (5) years of experience. We offer a very lucrative earning package, generous incentives/bonuses, 100% health insurance coverage, and an IRA match. Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply. Please note that this job requires long distance driving. You will be home every other night and on weekends.

Essential Responsibilities

Safely operate a Class A tractor-trailer (18-wheeler).

Transport freight and mulch products to commercial clients.

Operate Wilkens Live Belt trailers (training provided if needed).

Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.

Complete and maintain accurate logs, including delivery receipts and inspection reports, in accordance with DOT and company policies.

Maintain clear and regular communication with the Dispatcher to provide updates on delivery status, report delays, or request assistance as needed.

Monitor vehicle performance and maintenance needs, report any mechanical issues or required repairs, and coordinate with the maintenance team for timely servicing.

Deliver products on time while maintaining professional customer service. Interact professionally with customers at delivery sites, representing the company in a positive light and addressing any questions or concerns about shipment.

Comply with all DOT regulations and company safety standards. Adhere to all federal and state traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company safety policies, including maintaining a clean driving record.

Essential Job Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of CDL-A driving experience.

Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with the appropriate endorsements; a clean driving record is required.

Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, basic vehicle maintenance, and excellent communication skills.

Familiarity with ELD systems.

Experience operating tractor-trailers in regional routes.

Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, sit for extended periods, and work in various weather conditions.

Strong commitment to safety, dependability, and professionalism.

Additional Requirements:

Good organizational skills for maintaining accurate records and logs.

Ability to adapt to changing schedules or routes as directed.

Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays, if necessary.
