About Us
Renovis Design, LLC is a Plano, Texas-based architecture and interior design firm specializing in commercial remodels, additions, and tenant finish-outs. We work closely with clients, engineers, and contractors to deliver projects from initial concept through permitting and construction coordination.
The Role
We're looking for a Registered Architect to join our team on a project-by-project, contract basis. This is a flexible engagement — work hours and location are open, with the expectation of responsiveness during active project phases and reliable turnaround on deliverables. This is a great fit for an architect who wants steady, varied project work without a full-time commitment that can be balanced with another full-time job.
What You'll Work On
- Review and oversight of the design development process across commercial remodel, addition, and tenant finish-out projects
- Review of architectural plans, drawings, and construction documents prepared by our in-house design team for accuracy, completeness, and code compliance
- Providing professional guidance and quality control at key design milestones
- Reviewing and stamping/sealing documents as required for permitting, where applicable
- Coordinating with our design team to resolve code, coordination, or constructability issues identified during review
- Occasional client and contractor meetings (virtual or in-person as needed) to support design decisions
What We're Looking For
- Current active architectural registration/license (required)
- Experience with commercial project types — remodels, additions, or tenant improvements strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of IBC and local commercial building codes
- Comfortable working independently and managing deliverables against project timelines
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with a small, collaborative team
- Proficiency in relevant design/CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit. Archicad)
Engagement Details
- Contract / 1099, project-by-project basis
- Flexible hours and location — remote work supported
- Compensation based on project scope, to be discussed per engagement
- Ongoing opportunity for repeat project work based on fit and availability
