Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated 4th Grade Reading Teacher to join our vibrant educational community. While certification is not required, candidates should possess a strong passion for teaching children, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to creating an engaging and nurturing classroom environment. You will be responsible for developing tailored lesson plans, implementing effective teaching strategies, and collaborating with colleagues to ensure each student reaches their full potential.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging reading lessons aligned with grade-level standards to promote literacy development
- Utilize diverse instructional methods including curriculum development, learning technology, and differentiated instruction to meet individual student needs
- Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative evaluations, including standardized testing preparation
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive learning environment that encourages participation and respect
- Incorporate elements of early childhood education, childhood development, and special education strategies to support diverse learners
- Provide tutoring and extra support to students needing additional help in literacy, math, or other core subjects
- Collaborate with colleagues on lesson planning, curriculum adjustments, and school-wide initiatives such as library services and early intervention programs
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to teaching practices, behavior management, and working with children with autism or other special needs
- Maintain clear communication with parents or guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities
Qualifications
- EC-6 certification not required upon hire. Proof of enrollment in ACP required, if not certified.
- Prior classroom experience working with elementary-aged children in a school setting
- Strong writing skills, literacy education expertise, and knowledge of reading fundamentals appropriate for 4th grade
- Experience in lesson planning, and standardized testing preparation
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to mentor students effectively
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and classroom management strategies
- Background in early childhood education or childhood development is preferred but not mandatory
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and adapt to evolving educational needs

Pay: $73,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
