SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

Senior Electrical Engineer

Salary: Up to $140,000 DOE

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to support the design and development of high-power pulsed and continuous-wave (CW) systems used in charged particle accelerators. This position is ideal for an engineer with expertise in high-voltage power supplies, pulsed power modulators, and control circuits. Candidates ranging from highly skilled professionals to subject matter experts are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

Design, analyze, and develop electrical systems and power trains for charged particle accelerator applications.
Design and support high-voltage power supplies (up to 30 kV), modulators, and control circuits.
Conduct feasibility studies, testing, and validation of new and modified electrical designs.
Develop detailed electrical schematics, specifications, and engineering documentation.
Lead prototype fabrication, testing, troubleshooting, and system integration efforts.
Provide technical direction and support to engineering and technical staff.
Ensure compliance with engineering change processes, revision control, and configuration management standards.
Participate in product lifecycle management activities from concept through production.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience with:
High-voltage power supplies (up to 30 kV)
Pulsed power modulators (line-type and solid-state)
Control circuits
Minimum of 7 years of related electrical engineering experience.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and hands-on engineering skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with charged particle accelerators.
Experience designing and operating pulsed power modulators.
Experience with magnetron-based and klystron-based systems.
Experience designing and operating high-power klystron-based systems.
Control circuit design experience.
Familiarity with:
SAP
Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)
Engineering change processes
Revision control and configuration management
