Full Job Description

Inova Schar Cancer Institute’s Adult Infusion Clinic is looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse to join the team at their Loudoun location.

As an Infusion Center Registered Nurse, you will communicate effectively and work cooperatively with others while having respect for and an understanding of other clinical disciplines. To help achieve our mission, you will use an integrated approach toward achieving desired patient outcomes while ensuring improvements in practice settings by assuming responsibility for self-development in lifelong learning. Providing direction and guidance to others regarding practice while serving as a resource, preceptor and mentor is of vital importance. Your leadership skills in decision making and problem solving are essential. Your ability to provide comprehensive patient and family education including information about treatments, medications, chemotherapy and other appropriate items, while keeping patients and families informed about all aspects of the plan of care, is required. Working with members of the healthcare team to provide patients and families with appropriate resources and support is expected.

Additional Requirements:

Work schedule: Full-time day shift - 4x9-hour shifts; 7:30 am – 5:00 pm
Education: BSN or ADN (If ADN: must complete/obtain BSN within 24 months of start date)
Experience: A minimum of one year of infusion nursing experience.
Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association & VA RN license; Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification (must obtain within two years from date of hire)
Proficient in English, strong verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional interpersonal skill and the ability to display a caring demeanor towards others. Proficient computer skills required.
