Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join our professional team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and accounting software, with a strong understanding of GAAP and various specialized accounting areas. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects within corporate, governmental, and non-profit sectors, providing critical financial insights and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and standards.

Responsibilities

Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
Conduct account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, general ledger reconciliation, and account analysis.
Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Perform detailed journal entries, double-entry bookkeeping, and accrual accounting tasks.
Oversee budgeting, financial forecasting, and cash flow analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Ensure compliance with SOX regulations, securities law, and other relevant legal standards.
Conduct internal audits and assist with external audits to verify financial integrity.
Prepare regulatory reports and support tax filings with experience in tax regulations and laws such as Wills, trusts & estate law.
Utilize accounting software such as CDK,QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms for efficient financial management.
Mentor junior staff members in technical accounting practices and professional development initiatives.
Support financial report writing and interpretation for management review and external stakeholders.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends including governmental accounting, non-profit accounting, private equity, and corporate finance.

Skills

MUST HAVE AN EXTENSIVE UNDERSTANDING OF REAL ESTATE AND AUTOMOBILE DEALERSHIP ACCOUNTING AND TAXES.

Proficiency with accounting software including CDK, or equivalent systems.
Strong understanding of GAAP, SEC regulations, SOX compliance, and securities law.
Expertise in financial concepts such as double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, journal entries, and accrual accounting.
Experience with financial statement preparation, balance sheet reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and account reconciliation.
Ability to perform financial analysis including cash flow analysis and forecasting.
Knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements for various sectors including governmental and non-profit organizations.
Excellent skills in financial report writing and interpretation for diverse audiences.
Familiarity with tax experience related to estate planning (wills & trusts) is a plus.
Strong analytical skills combined with sound financial acumen for effective decision-making.
Effective mentoring abilities to foster team growth in technical accounting skills. This position offers an engaging environment for professionals passionate about delivering precise financial insights while maintaining compliance across multiple sectors.
