Full Job Description

Loudoun Medical Group (LMG), one of the largest and most diverse physician-owned, multi-specialty group practices in Virginia, has an exciting employment opportunity for Full-Time experienced Certified Medical Assistant to support a busy Family practice in Sterling, VA.

General Medical Assistant responsibilities include:

Brings patients back (adults/Peds) to exam rooms and prepares patients for physicians by obtaining accurate medical history, vital signs and other necessary clinical information.
Administers medications and injections per physician orders.
Performs triage through appropriate communication and documentation.
Prepares specimens to send out to reference labs in accordance with laboratory guidelines and insurance plan requirements.
Reports lab results back to patients. Works with physicians to ensure timely receipt and reporting of results.
Assists physicians with discharge instructions and necessary patient follow-up and education. Includes calling in prescriptions into pharmacies when necessary.
Assists in management of patient records electronically.
Prepares rooms for procedures – ensures proper functioning of medical equipment and maintains adequate stock of supplies.
Ensure exam rooms are cleaned between patients and at the end of the day.
Works with front office staff when clinical information is required to coordinate insurance referrals and authorizations.
Provides support to front office staff when requested.
Works with Office Manager and/or physician(s) to develop and implement clinical policies and procedures in accordance with internal and external regulations and guidelines.
Works with other personnel in office to achieve department objectives.
Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations.

Job Requirements:

High School degree or equivalent
Must have at least 1-2 years experience as a medical assistant
Must have experience working at the front desk of a medical practice
Must possess exceptional customer service skills
Must have strong clinical skills
Must be able to work independently and on a team
Must have problem solving skills
EMR experience preferred (Pulse and/or ECW)
Experience with inventory/stocking medical supplies
Professional demeanor
Bilingual a plus
