StreetWise Partners seeks a highly organized, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic Development Assistant to support the organization's fundraising and donor engagement efforts. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional interested in nonprofit fundraising, events, donor relations, and development operations. Working closely with the Development team, the Development Assistant will help support the activities and systems that drive the organization's annual fundraising goal of $2.7 million.
The Development Assistant will support donor stewardship, maintain accurate fundraising data, assist with special events, and help ensure the smooth operation of the Development Department. Through this role, the Development Assistant will gain hands-on experience in fundraising, event planning, donor communications, and nonprofit operations.
The Development Assistant reports to the Chief Development Officer and works closely with the Development team, event contractors, and Senior Director of Operations.
This is a part-time position averaging approximately 15 hours per week, typically worked over three days per week. Weekly hours may fluctuate depending on the event calendar, with additional hours required during peak event periods. The role is primarily remote (approximately 75% work from home); however, the individual must have the flexibility to work from our Midtown Manhattan office as needed, particularly in the weeks leading up to events, on event days, and for occasional team meetings.
Fundraising & Donor Stewardship
- Maintain accurate donor and prospect records in Salesforce.

Process gifts and pledges and ensure timely donor acknowledgments.

Support donor cultivation and stewardship activities as needed.
Events & Engagement
- Support the planning and execution of fundraising and donor events, including the Annual Partnership Breakfast, Poker Tournament, and cultivation events.

Assist with event logistics, including registration, nametags, guest communications, and event materials.

Support sponsorship fulfillment and attendee tracking.
Database & Administrative Support
- Maintain data quality and ensure donor information is complete and up to date.

Generate reports for fundraising, board, and event-related needs.

Support the Development team with administrative projects and special assignments as needed.

Assist Finance department with monthly; quarterly and annual reconciliation and clean up procedures; support with annual audit process

- Internship, volunteer, or professional experience in nonprofit organizations, fundraising, events, customer service, or administrative support.

Experience with Salesforce, Classy, Givesmart or similar platforms.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
