ABOUT THE ROLE
TRC Talent Solutions seeks an Equity Trading Platform Architect to join a forward-thinking investment management organization. This unique opportunity blends hands-on trade execution with platform design, workflow optimization, automation, and operational innovation across the trading lifecycle.
The ideal candidate understands the mechanics of equity trading but also sees opportunities to rethink how work gets done. You will help shape the firm's next-generation trading platform by improving workflows, leveraging technology, and introducing scalable solutions that enhance both execution quality and operational efficiency. This role offers broad exposure across investments, trading, operations, compliance, broker relationships, and technology, with the opportunity to influence both day-to-day execution and the long-term evolution of the organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute domestic and international equity trades with sound judgment across liquidity, timing, implementation strategy, and market conditions.
- Help design and evolve the firm's trading platform, including workflows, automation initiatives, data architecture, and operational processes.
- Contribute to the development of AI-enabled tools, decision-support systems, and scalable workflows across trading and operations.
- Identify opportunities to improve execution quality, operational efficiency, and process consistency through technology and automation.
- Partner with investment, compliance, operations, broker, and technology teams to support an integrated front-to-back trading environment.
- Support enhancements to trading infrastructure, controls, broker management practices, and post-trade operating processes.
- Analyze existing workflows and recommend innovative solutions that improve scalability and reduce operational risk.
- Participate in strategic initiatives focused on modernizing how the organization operates within an increasingly technology- and AI-driven investment landscape.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Industry Experience: Experience in trading, investment operations, portfolio operations, middle office, or a related investment management environment.
- Trading Knowledge: Understanding of the equity trading lifecycle, including trade execution, settlement, broker relationships, and post-trade processes.
- Process Improvement: Demonstrated interest in workflow optimization, automation, operational efficiency, and platform development.
- Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities with the capacity to evaluate tradeoffs, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvements.
- Technology Mindset: Curiosity about the intersection of markets, systems, automation, data, and AI.
- Collaboration: Ability to work effectively across investment, operations, compliance, broker, and technology teams.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive change.
- Ownership: Self-starter mentality with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, evolving environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Trading Systems: Experience working with order management systems, execution management systems, workflow tools, or related trading technologies.
- Automation & Analytics: Exposure to automation initiatives, data analytics, process redesign, or operational transformation efforts.
- Technology Exposure: Familiarity with AI-enabled tools, reporting platforms, data architecture, or workflow technologies.
- Investment Operations: Understanding of front-to-back investment workflows and operational infrastructure.
- Continuous Improvement: Proven track record of contributing to process enhancements, operational efficiencies, or technology-driven innovation.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
