Our client, a leading seafood harvesting, processing, and distribution company located in Cape May, NJ, is seeking a Maintenance Technician – Manufacturing to join their team. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production and packaging equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.
The ideal candidate will have experience performing maintenance and repairs in a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment. Candidates with strong mechanical skills, troubleshooting abilities, and experience maintaining industrial equipment are encouraged to apply.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on production machinery and manufacturing equipment.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment issues.
- Maintain and repair conveyors, motors, pumps, packaging equipment, and other industrial machinery.
- Install, adjust, and align equipment according to manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
- Perform inspections to identify potential equipment issues and minimize downtime.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage using CMMS or maintenance logs.
- Collaborate with production and sanitation teams to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.
- Assist with equipment upgrades, improvements, and special projects as assigned.
- Follow all safety procedures, GMP requirements, and food safety standards.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical school or associate degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance is a plus.
- Previous experience in manufacturing, industrial maintenance, food processing, or a similar environment preferred.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and ability to properly use hand and power tools.
Skills Required:
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical troubleshooting.
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs and maintenance documentation.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize maintenance needs in a fast-paced production environment.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- Must be able to work the day shift. Start and stop times will vary, based on production. The basic shift is 8:00 AM to 5:00 pm. During height production seasons (currently going on), this position will be working six days a week.
- Must be comfortable working in hot, cold, wet, and noisy environments.
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work at heights or in confined spaces if needed.
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts.

Salary Range:$55,000 - $70,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
