Full Job Description

Your role:

ArcelorMittal Tubular Products Electrical Engineer, reports to Manager of Engineering and Maintenance, is responsible for analyzing electrical issues, developing solutions, specifying and designing electrical equipment and systems, and modifying existing electrical infrastructure to enhance production efficiency and safety. The Electrical Engineer will collaborate closely with production, maintenance teams, and external contractors to ensure smooth operations and continuous improvement.

Main tasks:

· Design and develop electrical panels.

· Commission electrical equipment and systems.

· Develop conceptual designs for capital projects, project approval requests (P.A.R.s), and other engineering initiatives.

· Provide technical support in diagnosing and resolving electrical malfunctions.

· Manage projects from concept through full implementation.

· Design, install, and optimize engineered electrical control systems.

· Create schematic drawings for new manufacturing equipment.

· Program and troubleshoot PLC systems.

· Develop and program HMI platforms to interface with PLC/control systems.

· Design and manage power distribution equipment and infrastructure.

Must-have:

· Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required.

· Experience with power distribution systems and applicable electrical codes is essential.

· Strong experience in PLC programming and troubleshooting of complex PLC control systems.

· Hands-on experience with digital drives (AC and DC).

· Minimum of five years of experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably in steel pipe or tube production.

· Proficiency in plant power distribution systems.

· Experience with Allen-Bradley controls and drives preferred.

· Knowledge and experience with AC and DC crane systems preferred.

· Proficiency in AutoCAD preferred.

· Strong knowledge of NEC codes and electrical standards.

· Proficiency in programming, troubleshooting, and optimizing PLC and PanelView operator interfaces.

· Ability to read, program, and troubleshoot PLC ladder logic and other machine codes to resolve complex issues.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and act on data effectively.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to lead meetings and training sessions.

· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high productivity.

· Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment.

· High level of integrity, professionalism, and respect, demonstrating tact and diplomacy in all interactions.

Other details:

Full time position based in Shelby, Ohio. Possess the physical ability to climb stairs, bend, stoop and move throughout the plant as needed. Sit for long periods of time, perform repetitive movements, occasionally lifting up to-30 pounds. Possess the ability to hear, speak and write clearly, in person, by email, and over the phone.
